We are Rehana, Shumon and Angelo - your Larkswood Labour and Co-operative candidates for the local elections on 3 May.
We have been speaking to residents across the ward to deal with the issues they have raised, as well as taking part in community activities including organising a spring clean to clear the area behind the basketball court between Lena Kennedy Close and Aldriche Way.
We have also been helping out at a breakfast club run by local volunteers, where we met hard working people that struggle to make ends meet. For too many it is a choice between paying the bills or buying food – this is the reality of Theresa May’s Britain and is totally unacceptable.
Residents have also highlighted their concerns at Tory cuts to policing, with fewer officers patrolling our streets. This has led to complaints about rising crime, particularly burglaries. Everyone deserves to feel safe in Larkswood and our Waltham Forest Labour manifesto is clear we will fight against police cuts to ensure they have the resources they need to keep us safe.
The story we have been hearing time and time again is that Larkswood residents want to see real change in the area. They have seen the significant difference hard working Labour Councillors have made across Waltham Forest, whilst in Chingford residents have been neglected by their local Tory Councillors who have failed to deal with their problems and instead focused on blaming Labour.
We believe residents deserve better. If elected, we will work hard for Larkswood residents and deliver on our manifesto pledges to support our local business, invest in our high streets, improve our green spaces and help ensure Larkswood is clean and safe to live in.
